Bulgari is no stranger to creating innovative and groundbreaking watches, and their latest creation, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Marble edition etches the notion in stone, marble to be specific. This one-of-a-kind watch is made from a layer of 0.5mm of Verde di Alpi green marble that has been carefully applied to a DLC titanium case and bracelet.
The DLC titanium case of the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Marble measures 40mm in diameter and is just 6.9mm thick. The dial as well is covered with a 0.6mm layer of Verde di Alpi green marble with the hands of the watch gold-plated, and the hour markers are applied.
With the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon range, Bvlgari has reached a milestone in the development of ultra-thin watches with a major complication: its 1.95mm thin movement makes this flying Tourbillon the slimmest on the market since 2013. The 3Hz BVL 268 manual movement with flying tourbillon is visible through the dial, which is also made from a layer of Verde di Alpi green marble. The inspiration behind the piece came from ancient times when marble was featured in Roman architecture by the most skillful artists of all time.
The watch will be auctioned off at Only Watch 2023, with proceeds going to research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
