For this year’s Only Watch auction, Montblanc’s contribution is a unique edition of its 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Carbo2 watch for the Only Watch 2023 charity auction. This one-of-a-kind timepiece features a groundbreaking new case material, zero oxygen inside the case, and an amazing experience with Montblanc Mark Maker Nimsdai Purja.
The 43mm case is made from CARBO2, a new composite material created by Montblanc using a pioneering technological development that captures CO2 and mixes it with ultra-light carbon fiber. The result is a lightweight, strong, and durable case that is also completely resistant to corrosion and oxidation.
The case features a luminous glacier blue outline of Mount Everest on the side, a fluted bi-directional black ceramic bezel with compass cardinal points, and a 3D laser-engraved picture of the world’s highest peak on the titanium case back.
The 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Carbo2 has an electric blue glacier dial with worldtime meridians in Only Watch’s 2023 rainbow color theme. It is powered by the Montblanc MB 29.25 automatic movement with worldtime complication, including turning globes, 24-hour scale, day & night indications, dual time display, and a date.
The watch comes with a black textile strap made of recycled material and will be auctioned off at Only Watch 2023 on November 5th, 2023, to benefit Duchenne muscular dystrophy research with an estimated cost between CHF 25,000 – 35,000.
