The “L.Leroy Minute Repeater Only Watch” emerges as a grand complication timepiece of extraordinary significance. The timepiece carries the legacy of Leroy’s historical tact watch from 1810, originally designed for Prince Emil Maximillian Leopold August of Hesse.
The 43mm x 13.95mm case showcases a juxtaposition of materials and aesthetics. With a case body, back, repeater slide, and crown in polished grade 5 titanium, adorned by engraved 18K palladium white gold elements, including the bezel and buckle. The diamond-set bezel is adorned with 24 diamonds totaling 1.35 carats.
Rotating dial with flinqué soleil decoration and translucent aquamarine varnish finish, arrow-shaped rhodium-plated hour hand points to diamond-set hour markers.
Powered by a hand-wound in-house movement, with complications like the minute repeater and a flying tourbillon, the movement features a unique bridge adorned with engraved floral decoration, hand-beveled edges, and rhodium-plated accents. The minute repeater’s harmonious chime is achieved through two gongs struck by hammers.
The L.Leroy minute repeater watch is fitted with an aquamarine calf leather strap, secured with a round-shaped open worked folding buckle, which is also made of 18K palladium white gold.
The L.Leroy Minute Repeater watch is set to be auctioned off at Only Watch for CHF 150,000 – 180,000, with the proceeds dedicated to Duchenne muscular dystrophy research.
