The new Zenith Defy Extreme Chronograph Carl Cox Edition emerges in the field of horology, where innovation frequently treads a fine line between brilliance and audacity. Let’s quickly examine this intriguing collaboration where Swiss watchmaking and DJ Carl Cox intersect to create a timepiece that defies conventions.
The 45mm x 15.4mm case exemplifies the craftsmanship and design synergy, commanding a confident presence on the wrist. The blend of matte micro-blasted stainless steel and luminous yellow gold accents pays homage to both Zenith’s precision and the vibrancy of Carl Cox’s musical legacy.
Noteworthy is the 12-sided yellow gold ring beneath the bezel, a subtle nod to the watch’s exclusivity. The purposeful addition of shields protecting the chronograph pushers underscores its robust nature, akin to a sonic powerhouse ready to command the stage.
Delving into the dial, we encounter three subdials, resembling mini vinyl records, paying homage to Carl Cox’s iconic music career. A striking 60-second counter positioned at 6 o’clock captures attention and operates at a rotation per second for precision timing. Gold-plated indices and hands are enhanced with Super-LumiNova. The dial’s enigmatic aura is protected by a tinted sapphire crystal, creating an intriguing visual experience.

The caseback reveals the black star-shaped rotor and main plate.
The watch comes on a three-link bracelet in micro-blasted stainless steel, a rubber strap, and a Velcro strap. Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, it’s offered at EUR 32,400.
