In the ever-evolving and dynamic world of horology, it’s always interesting to see a new player emerging and making a lasting impression. In that vein, meet Parterra, a microbrand from Belgium that has unveiled its debut timepiece, the Ultimate All-Terrain Collection (UA-T). This collection, slated to launch on Kickstarter on November 7, 2023, marks a significant step forward for Belgian watchmaking, with the promise of delivering Swiss-made excellence to adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Parterra UA-T has a case designed to withstand the harshest conditions. With integrated lugs, distinctive case geometry, and a uniquely crafted screwed bezel, this timepiece exudes ruggedness. The case is made of Grade 5 titanium, which is a lightweight and durable material that is resistant to corrosion and scratches. The 10 ATM water resistance makes the watch a fearless companion if one enjoys swimming, diving, or any aquatic adventure.
The UA-T’s dial seamlessly blends outdoor functionality with refined aesthetics. It is a clean and modern dial with a 6H Skeleton Calendar and a 9H Small Second. The dials and the case are available in four different colorways: Palawan Blue, Bwindi Green, Lengai Black, and Hoggar Brown. Each colorway is inspired by a different adventure, and the dials feature luminous accents for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.
Under the hood of each Parterra UA-T watch lies the tried-and-true ETA 2824-2 movement, referred to as the S24-SK8. With a power reserve of 36 hours, it powers a creatively-styled small-seconds indication at 9 o’clock. The exhibition caseback provides a clear view of a custom-cut rotor, enhancing the watch’s visual appeal while retaining its utilitarian essence.
Parterra places equal emphasis on the UA-T’s versatile strap options. The default FKM rubber strap, suitable for water activities, is tear-resistant. Furthermore, each UA-T includes a fusion leather strap for a more formal appearance. Both straps are equipped with a durable pin-buckle closure to withstand various environments.
The Parterra’s UA-T Kickstarter: “Super Early Bird” will be at €1,850 for 2 days, then €1,950 for 5 days, and “Regular Bird” at €2,100. After the campaign, UA-T will retail for €3,500.
