The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore, or ROO, has carved a distinct niche in the world of luxury sports watches. Traditionally known for its chronographs, the ROO collection welcomes a fresh face; the time-and-date Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 43mm (ref. 15605SK.OO.A350CA.01). This sleek and sophisticated newcomer throws its hat into the ring, poised to become a modern classic.
The case, measuring 43mm in diameter and 14.4mm thick, exudes a sporty confidence. The robust stainless steel construction gets a touch of pizazz with a contrasting blue rubber-coated bezel. The iconic hexagonal screws and the oversized crown with guards, signature ROO features, are all present, completing the bold aesthetic.
Moving to the dial, the new generation Mega Tapisserie pattern takes center stage. This textured motif, in a smoked blue hue, adds depth and a dash of playfulness. Housing the timekeeping essentials; hours, minutes, seconds, and date. The dial features rhodium-toned gold hour markers and luminescent Royal Oak hands for low-light visibility.
Powering this new ROO is the in-house Calibre 4302 automatic movement. Visible through the sapphire caseback, boasts a 70-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4Hz. The blackened 22k gold rotor adds a hint of luxury within.
The blue rubber strap, perfectly matching the bezel and dial, seamlessly integrates with the case. This strap, secured by a steel pin buckle, boasts a convenient interchangeable system. An additional black rubber strap is included, offering versatility to the wearer. Expect to pay €27,700 in Europe (VAT included) or US$26,500 in the United States (excluding taxes) for Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 43 mm.
