The Patek Philippe Nautilus, a legendary timepiece holding a coveted spot in luxury sports watches, has received a dynamic update. This year, after discontinuing the beloved rose gold Ref. 5980R, Patek reintroduces the coveted flyback chronograph complication in a sleek white gold iteration – the Ref. 5980/60G-001.
The 40.5 x 12.2mm 18k white gold case blends polished and brushed finishes, echoing the Nautilus’s sharp angles. It retains the signature octagonal bezel, integrated lugs, and offers 30 meters of water resistance for everyday wear.
The blue-gray opaline dial features the Nautilus’s signature horizontal embossing. White gold hour markers with lume ensure nighttime legibility. A framed date window sits at 3 o’clock, balanced by the single chronograph subdial at 6. A white minute track completes the dial.
The in-house Patek Philippe Caliber CH 28-520 C/522 powers the watch. This self-winding flyback chronograph movement with a 21k gold central rotor boasts 45-55 hour power reserve, while the Gyromax balance and Breguet balance spring contribute to timekeeping accuracy.
Patek offers two straps: a bold blue-gray denim pattern calfskin and a classic blue-gray fabric option. Both fasten with a white gold Nautilus clasp. The Ref. 5980/60G-001 costs EUR 78,300 and is available now.
