Seiko has introduced two new models to its Seiko 5 Sports Heritage line, the SRPL03 and SRPL05, drawing from a classic late-1960s design. These watches are a nod to the past, specifically the 5126-8090 Kamen Rider, a model that gained fame on the wrist of a Japanese superhero television character.

The new watches remain faithful to the original design, featuring a 38.5mm stainless steel case, short 44.8mm lug-to-lug measurement, recessed 4 o’clock crown, Hardlex mineral glass, and rotating bezel with metallic insert. They also offer improved water-resistance up to 100 meters, compared to the original’s 70 meters.

The watches feature vintage-inspired dials: silver brushed (SRPL03) and matte black (SRPL05). Both have baton markers with LumiBrite, straight hands, a red lollipop seconds hand, a uniquely shaped day-date window, and the classic Seiko 5 logo.

Under the hood, the watches are powered by the Seiko 4R36 automatic movement with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and a power reserve of 41 hours. It features a hacking function.

The watches feature a brushed single-link stainless steel bracelet with a push-button folding clasp and include a black leather rally strap. Limited to 9,999 units per color, they’ll release in July 2024 at EUR 460, GBP 400, or USD 450.
