TAG Heuer and Porsche have a storied history of collaborations due to their shared racing heritage. In 2024, the respective brands collaborated again and this time to commemorate the historic 70th anniversary podium finishes of Porsche 550 Spyders during the 1954 Carrera Panamericana racing event, resulting in TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana.

This Carrera made in stainless steel, comes in a 42mm x 15.1mm size, providing a solid foundation for the intricate components within. The case is finished with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. The top is protected by a domed sapphire “Glassbox” crystal. The water resistance is 100 meters.

The dial has contrasting shades of black and yellow over a silver skeletonized layout that reveals the driving engine underneath. The skeletonized layout also serves to look like the wheels of a Porsche 550 Spyder. The hour markers are luminescent, yellow lacquered hands are sleek, and at 6 o’clock a tourbillon catches the eye. Further racing elements include the grained accents symbolizing asphalt, while the yellow lacquered hands pay homage to the iconic number 55 decals on the race car.

The watch is driven by the in-house TH20-09 automatic movement. It’s a 4Hz frequency movement (28,800) that offers 65 hours power reserve and has features like vertical clutch, column wheel chronograph and of course, a tourbillon.

The watch is paired with a black perforated calfskin leather strap with yellow side linings. Availability started this month for this 255-piece limited edition, priced at CHF 35,000 or USD $40,000.
