In the Chinese zodiac, the current year 2025 is symbolized by Wood Snake, known for its wisdom, patience, and mystery. To commemorate this significant year, the Swiss watchmaker with English roots Arnold & Son has debuted the Perpetual Moon 41.5 Red Gold “Year of the Snake” a magnificent timepiece that artfully captures the essence of the Wood Snake through stupendous artisanship and symbolic design elements.

The watch is made in a polished red gold case measuring 41.5mm x 11.67mm. Its sapphire crystal is domed with anti-reflective coating, the caseback is also sapphire. Water resistance is 30 meters.

The dial is what this watch is made for, showcasing a blue aventurine glass background adorned with a hand-engraved 18k rose gold snake. The lifelike serpent coils around a ginkgo biloba tree, its leaves and a pagoda hand-painted with gold powder and overlaid with Super-LumiNova for a stunning luminescent effect.

The moonphase zone is laid out in an arc-shaped aperture that spans from just above 9 o’clock to just above 3 o’clock, a 29mm aperture reveals a large, luminescent, hand-painted mother-of-pearl moon and constellations of Ursa Major and Cassiopeia, celebrating Arnold & Son’s legacy in celestial navigation.

Powering this timepiece is the in-house manually wound Calibre A&S1512 with double barrels providing a robust 90-hour power reserve. Its precision astronomical moon phase complication achieves an extraordinary accuracy, deviating by just one day every 122 years. The caseback includes a secondary moon phase indicator for precise adjustments.

The Perpetual Moon 41.5 Red Gold “Year of the Snake” is paired with a handsome inky blue alligator strap, lined with red alligator, and secured with an 18k red gold prong buckle. Limited to just 8 pieces, this exclusive timepiece retails for CHF 57,200.
