Well, folks, it’s that time of year again. The frosty mornings here in the UK have left us, the birds are singing, my Mum’s daffodils are blooming outside the house, and soon, the colours of the new releases from Watches & Wonders Geneva will be gracing our website. I’m really excited about my third trip to the show to see the latest creations. The other day, I wrote about how now is the best time to be in horology since the 1970s, and I genuinely believe that.
In just under a week’s time, sixty maisons will debut their latest novelties at Palexpo in Geneva, with more and more events happening around Geneva, such as “In the City”, where brands will be hosting events at their boutiques in the capital city. Some of the hotels will also be hosting independent brands showing off their new watches, and right next to Palexpo in Geneva at Villa Sarasin is Time To Watches, where even more brands will be showing the latest novelties (Time To Watches is independent of Watches & Wonders Geneva).
Around this time last year, I put up a similar post to this one, writing about how I was looking forward to Geneva and the watches and also to reuniting with Jovan, WristReview’s Masthead. Personal reasons mean he could not make it and I did my best to fly the flag for WristReview. This year, we hope things will go to plan, and we’ll be able to see each other in person again for the first time in a long time.
We’ll do our best to get as much content out to you as possible. Naturally, writing articles and editing pictures takes a lot longer than producing content for social media, so if you haven’t done so already, I would head over to WristReview’s Instagram account, where you’ll get to see the most from Watches & Wonders Geneva. Sadly, we can’t make it to any of the other events, but with so many in Palexpo we’re still spoiled for choice.
With that said, we look forward to showing you the latest watches from Switzerland and meeting up in person. Until then, I’ll see you in the comments section.
