Following the recent release of the BR 03-92 Full Lum, a dive watch with a fully lumed, summerish sea-green dial, Bell and Ross is back again with yet another installment of the BR 03-92. The new BR 03-92 Orange features the brand’s signature stainless steel square shaped case along with a bright orange dial.
As you may have probably guessed by now, the main talking point here is the new Orange colorway. In a world where black and blue watches are a commonplace, and red and green are slowly catching pace, the orange dial on this new watch does stand out and brings a breath of fresh air. Dial color aside, the layout remains identical to what is found on other members of the BR 03-92 family. A combination of applied lume filled circles, batons, and a rounded triangle at 12 comprise the hour index. A printed minute track runs along the outer periphery of the dial, and a circular date window with a color-matched date wheel sits between 4 and 5. Time can be read using the broad hour and minute hands along with the lollipop style seconds hand. Interestingly, all applied and printed elements except for the depth rating have been presented in black to offer better contrast and improve legibility.
Like the dial, the case on this watch stands out for its distinctive square shape. Crafted from stainless steel the case measures 42mm in diameter and has short angular lugs. A uni-directional dive time bezel with a black aluminum insert and four large screws sit on top of the case. There is a black threaded crown at 3 which is protected with crown guards that have the text ‘Lock’ and an arrow printed on them. The crystal on the front is sapphire whereas the case back has been kept closed to ensure 300 meters of water resistance. Hiding underneath the case back is the automatic caliber BR-CAL.302 that is based on the Sellita SW300-1. It operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 42 hours.
The new Bell and Ross BR 03-92 Orange comes attached to a black rubber strap, and the package would also contain a matching orange synthetic fabric strap. The production run is limited to just 250 pieces and the watch is available to purchase only through Bell and Ross boutiques at a retail price of EUR 3,500.
