Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant (Hands-on)

Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant Chronograph Caliber 41 – Of all of the huge Breitling’s that  exist (and sometimes ridiculously huge), there are the few that in my opinion are just perfect. This Ref: A41330 38mm Montbrillant (Circa 2003), uses a movement based on the ETA 2894-2, which Breitling have upgraded to have 38 jewels giving you a power reserve of 42 hrs, as opposed to the more common Navitimer 25 jewel movement.

With a mineral crystal glareproofed on both sides, it makes it very easy to read this watch, even in the sunlight. The signature Breitling stainless steel bracelet strap may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I find it quite comfortable. The double lock mechanism of the strap can be a bit fiddly at times but adds that extra security. The chronograph movement is very smooth, with the pushers giving you a reassuring click when the correct pressure is applied. This is definitely one Breitling you should have in your collection, if you have no problems getting along with a 38mm watch.

Breitling Montbrillant Chronograph Caliber 41, can be found from around £3700 online or in secondhand watch shops
