Credor Unveils The Locomotive Limited Edition Ref. GCCR999 Watch

Celebrating 50 Years of Credor with the revival of Locomotive.

BY JOVAN KRSTEVSKI

Credor is widely regarded as Seiko’s high-end arm. They’re now celebrating their 50th anniversary with a revival of a unique watch from history; the Credor Locomotive. Designed by the legendary Gérald Genta in 1979, the Locomotive offers a glimpse into a lesser-known aspect of his design repertoire.

While it’s not as well known as Genta’s other two iconic designs; Royal Oak and Nautilus, the Locomotive still perfectly represents his signature style. The 2024 edition retains the bold hexagonal case and integrated bracelet, this time crafted from high-intensity titanium. Sizing at 38.8mm x 8.9mm, brushed and polished finishes create a luxurious feel, while the functional bezel screws (a modern upgrade) gives the design a contemporary flair.

The case has a screw-down crown offering a 100m water resistance, the solid titanium caseback is secured by 6 screws. The dial features a mesmerizing radial line pattern meticulously engraved with 1,600 radial lines, offering a refined alternative to the original hammered texture.

Replacing the original quartz movement is a new automatic Caliber CR01, exclusive to Credor, beating at 28,800 vibrations/hour  and offering a 45 hour power reserve.

Limited to just 300 pieces, the Credor Locomotive Limited Edition GCCR999 is priced at $12,000.
