Alpina Watches stand for good value, with high-quality construction tying in with some very tasty retail prices, it’s no wonder that watch enthusiasts love these things. To enhance its collection even more so, the brand is now introducing four new models to its Seastrong Diver 300 line of watches. Inspired by the Seastrong 10, the new models promise to deliver rugged looks with the performance to match. Let’s take a look!
Three of the four models combine a stainless steel case with different colour dials and accents. These models feature either a simple grey dial with a grey unidirectional diving bezel and a grey strap (ref. AL-525LGGW4TV6), a faux vintage style with beige lume and a sandy coloured strap (ref. AL-525LGG4TV6) or a bright blue model with white lume , a blue dial, bezel and strap (ref. AL-525LNN4TV6). These models have a 44m case which has been PVD coated with titanium. This gives the watches an extra hard coating, as well as saving the buyer some cash. It also means they don’t need all the expensive tools involved in machining blocks of titanium. Would you want to pay so much more for a solid titanium Alpina watch? Well, with this you get the best of both worlds.
The fourth model is a little different. Yes, it’s still 44mm in diameter and 13.6mm thick. Yes, it still has a leather pin buckle strap like the others with a rubber strap included. The difference here is that it’s made of steel with PVD bronze, so it’s weighty and also develops a unique patina over time. Bronze also changes its hue depending on the temperature, which I’ve always found interesting. Despite the bronze craze being mostly over, it’s nice to see brands still pay attention to the materials they use. The reference for this watch is AL-525LBBR4V4.
The movement used inside all models is called the Calibre AL-525, but is based on a Sellita SW 200-1 base. It features a 4Hz oscillating rate, 38-hour power reserve and a date window too. The movement is visible through the back of the watches, thanks to the inclusion of a sapphire crystal. The price for all models is the same across the board at €1,295. All models are water resistant to 300m.
