In the world of watches, it is difficult to stand out. That rings true for practically any watch, but the dive watch arena, in particular, is teeming with dive watches of all shapes and kinds. Adhering to the needs of a diver who demands a robust and dependable dive watch but the one that also offers precise timekeeping is a daunting task. With all the watchmaking prowess of the Saxon watchmaking brand Glashütte Original behind it, the SeaQ watch from the prestigious brand accomplishes both the tasks; i.e providing a dive watch that’s both robust, dependable and precise.

This time around, the Glashütte Original SeaQ Chronograph emerges in a striking new panda-styled version dubbed “Silver Screen.” The “Silver Screen” refers to the watch’s dial, which is finished in a galvanic silver tone for enhanced contrast and legibility.

If we delve into the specifics, the SeaQ Chronograph Silver Screen comes in a substantial size of 43.2mm x 16.95mm. The brushed and polished finish of the case lends this SeaQ a refined appearance. Withstanding the high pressures of deep sea is crucial for a dive watch and for SeaQ, the water resistance rating of 300 meters (30 bar) is achieved with the help of the screw-down crown and caseback .

The dial of the SeaQ Chronograph Silver Screen is finished in a galvanic silver tone for contrast and legibility, a crucial feature for a diver. The high-contrast “Silver Screen” dial features black hands and applied indexes that are filled with Super-LumiNova. A signature Glashütte Original feature, a Panorama Date is found at 6 o’clock. Two auxiliary dials, a 30-minute counter, and a small second counter, are carefully lathe-cut and feature a “vinyl” decorative finish, adding to the watch’s refined aesthetic.

The in-house Caliber 37-23 is responsible for the timekeeping of SeaQ Chronograph Silver Screen, an automatic movement beating at 28,800vph and offering a 70-hour power reserve with flyback chronograph function, and 30-minute counter.

The SeaQ Chronograph “Silver Screen” comes with a black rubber strap and offers options for an orange synthetic fabric strap or stainless steel bracelet. Available at authorized Glashütte Original retailers starting in September 2024, the watch starts at approximately €15,000.
