The new Hamilton’s Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono 42mm in Black PVD just made its debut and it’s a modern addition to the brand’s Jazzmaster collection with a lustrous black PVD-coated case and sporty design.
The 42mm x 15.2mm case is crafted from stainless steel and coated with black PVD, lending a bold appearance. The scratch resistant sapphire crystal with double anti reflective coating enables clear visibility from all angles. The fluted crown and rounded rectangular chronograph pushers complement the case’s sporty design. Water resistance is up to 100m (10 bar).
The dial exhibits a complex reciprocation of greyish black tones and silver accents where the base color shifts between black and charcoal depending on the lighting. Silver toned elements are pronounced onto the dial. The hands and indices are treated with Super-LumiNova X1 for visibility in low light.
The silver-toned running seconds sub-dial is at 9 o’clock, the recessed chronograph minutes counter with silver markings is at 3 o’clock, and the 12-hour totalizer with a blue accent is at 6 o’clock.

The exposed date disc shows many date numbers circling the dial center, with a separate date window at 4:30.
Underneath, the Hamilton caliber H-31 lies within, based on the ETA/Valjoux 7753 architecture. This automatic chronograph movement “performs” at 28,800vph (4Hz) and offers a 60h power reserve. The H-31 features a reworked kinematic chain and a Nivachron balance spring, which enhances the movement’s resistance to magnetic fields, shocks and temperature variations.
The watch is fitted with a 22mm black perforated leather strap with blue stitching and a black PVD coated folding clasp. The Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Auto Chrono 42mm in black PVD ref.
