Longines Spirit collection is known to merge classic elements from aviation watches with modern aesthetics and standards. The family of timepieces pays homage to Longines’ legacy while embracing novelty. The Spirit line debuted in 2020 and has been a consistent source of handsome aviation watches that incorporate vintage charm and unexpected elements. The Spirit collection is particularly interesting in the brand’s portfolio, as it provides an excellent platform for innovation within the parameters of proven success. The latest addition to this collection is the Longines Spirit Flyback, a new chronograph model that comes with a flyback function.

The Longines Spirit Flyback has a robust stainless steel construction with a sizing of 42 mm x 17 mm. It features a bi-directional bezel with a colored ceramic insert and luminescent markers, which can be used to keep track of elapsed time. The watch is water-resistant up to 10 ATM or approximately 100 meters and is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. The transparent case back allows the wearer to admire the intricate inner workings of the timepiece.

The dial of the Spirit Flyback watch has a bi-compax layout, available in three color variations, namely black or blue, with a sunray finish. The bronze-shaded hands and applied Arabic numerals are coated with Super-LumiNova, which ensures that the time is easily readable even in the dark. The design is elegant and understated, with a focus on functionality and legibility.

Orchestrating the hands on the dial is the Longines caliber L791.4, a self-winding column-wheel movement with a flyback function. The flyback function allows the user to quickly restart the stopwatch without having to stop and reset it first, which is particularly useful in timing events with multiple intervals. The movement has a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800vph) and a power reserve of 68 hours. It is certified as a chronometer by COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) and is resistant to magnetism thanks to its silicon balance spring. The movement has a personalized weight engraved with the globe representing the Longines Spirit collection and the name Longines Flyback.

The Longines Spirit Flyback watch has interchangeable strap options, including brown leather and blue fabric. A steel bracelet is also an option. With an interchangeable system built into the straps and bracelet, switching between options is simple. For maximum comfort and a perfect fit, the straps have a folding clasp equipped with a new micro-adjustment system. Additionally offered is a beige NATO strap. The new references are priced at EUR 4,840/USD 4,450 on straps (leather, fabric, or NATO) or EUR 5,000/USD 4,550 on a steel bracelet.
