IWC has updated its 2021 Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar with a new green dial colorway, the IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar (Ref. IW503608). This is the first Big Pilot’s watch to feature the brand’s EasX-CHANGE system, allowing for effortless strap changes.
The watch has a 46.2mm x 15.4mm stainless steel case with a deeply knurled and oversized onion-shaped crown, and a brushed finish, with the only polished accents being the conical bezel and the caseback. The screw-down crown ensures water resistance to 60m. A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating protects the dial, which features a sunray-brushed dark green finish with applied rhodium-plated markers and hands, all generously filled with luminous material.
The watch’s perpetual calendar function is powered by the in-house Calibre 52615, a 54-jewel automatic movement that offers an impressive 7-day power reserve (168h). The movement displays time centrally and features four subdials: a moon phase indicator at 12 o’clock, a date and power reserve display at 3 o’clock, a month display at 6 o’clock, and a weekday and small seconds display at 9 o’clock. A 4-digit year indication can be found at 7 o’clock. The movement is visible through the watch’s sapphire crystal exhibition caseback.
The Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar (Ref. IW503608) comes with a matching green rubber strap with steel rivets and a folding clasp with the EasX-CHANGE system. The watch is priced at EUR 36,000 (USD 33,000), is now available for purchase, and is not limited in production.
