Montblanc ambled into the horological hullabaloo of Watches And Wonders 2025, a familiar face amidst the glittering gaggle of brands. If memory serves, last year’s showing saw them trot out some rather fetching iterations, and this year they’ve plumped for a quartet of timekeepers, each with its own particular schtick. Let’s have a proper gander at what they’ve brought to the table this time around.
Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson Limited Edition MB134019
First up, the case is a sturdy bit of kit measuring 43.5mm x 13mm, fashioned from titanium, with a rather peculiar composite middle section incorporating quartz fibres, aluminized basalt fibres, CaCO₃ and a light blue resin. Turning our peepers to the dial, there isn’t one in the traditional sense; instead, you get rotating Northern and Southern Hemisphere globes, alongside a 24-hour scale, day/night indicators, a dual time display and a date window. Powering this piece is the MB 29.25 automatic movement, boasting Montblanc’s in-house worldtime complication, ticking away at 28,800vph. It’s strapped onto a blue-green interchangeable rubber number with a taper and a fine adjustment system. This one’s a limited run of 986 pieces and it’ll set you back $9,400.
Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen MB134022
Next up, we’ve got a blue sfumato glacier pattern dial on this. The case here is a more modest 38mm x 12.2mm, hewn from stainless steel and totally devoid of oxygen. The dial, mimics the depths of a glacier through an age-old gratté-boisé technique. Encircling it is a unidirectional rotating bezel with a two-toned blue anodized aluminium insert. Inside, the self-winding automatic movement ticks along at 28,800 times per hour. This one comes on an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet, complete with a fine adjustment system. It’s priced at $3,660 and doesn’t appear to be a limited edition, readily available for those inclined.
Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen MB134025
Following closely is another iteration with a white glacier pattern dial. The case specifications are identical to its blue counterpart, clocking in at 38mm x 12.2mm, again in an oxygen-free stainless steel construction. The dial, similarly crafted using the gratté-boisé method, presents a stark white glacial vista. The unidirectional rotating bezel here sports a white ceramic insert. This model also houses an automatic movement displaying hours, minutes, seconds and the date, operating at 28,800vph. It’s paired with an interchangeable white rubber strap featuring a fine adjustment system and carries a price tag of $3,460. Like its blue sibling, it seems to be a regular production model.
Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen MB134017
This one’s got a gray sfumato glacier pattern dial. The case here is a tad larger, measuring 41mm x 13mm, presented in a distressed steel, also oxygen-free. The gray sfumato dial continues the glacial theme, achieved through the same intricate technique. The unidirectional rotating bezel features a black ceramic insert, laser-lowered from 0 to 15 minutes. This one is powered by an automatic movement running at 28,800vph. It’s fitted with an interchangeable black rubber strap with a fine adjustment system and is priced at $4,400. This model also appears to be part of the standard collection.
