Ω Speedmaster Professional – The first watch on the Moon (if you don’t believe in conspiracy theories). Although this is not the original 145.012, nor does it have the sought after 321 cal. movement but it’s as close to one as possible. Omega may have ridden the “Moonwatch” title for a very long time but you can understand why. The simplicity of this chronograph watch is what makes this Omega’s flagship timepiece in my opinion. The design has been relatively unchanged for the past 40 years and I don’t see it changing (which is good thing, or is it)? At 42mm on a stainless steel bracelet strap this watch will sit comfortably on most wrists but for extra comfort I switched mine onto my trusty old Nato/G10.
Omega Speedmaster Professional 3570.50 1861 cal. movement – can be purchased for £2880 new, or can be found on many secondhand or auction sites for as little as £1700
