Omega Unveils The New Seamaster 300M America’s Cup Edition Watch

Honoring the 37th America’s Cup with a new Seamaster in wavy style.

America’s Cup is the world’s oldest international sporting trophy and Omega has a long-standing relationship with this sporting event. The connection goes back to the 1990s when Omega first sponsored Team New Zealand. Since then, they have released several America’s Cup-themed watches, including special versions of its Aqua Terra and Seamaster lines. Now Omega is celebrating the 37th edition of this prestigious event with a new release, the Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Edition.

Stainless steel is the choice of material for this special edition Seamaster, with a subtle sheen that catches the light beautifully. It measures 42mm x 13.8mm, considered to be a sweet spot in size wearability for most wrists.

The unidirectional rotating bezel is made of blue ceramic and features a unique regatta timer, which not only acknowledges its sailing spirit but also adds a practical sailing function for competitive racers. The 300 meters water resistance is well suited to its aquatic nature.

The dial is incredibly legible with a crisp white, laser-engraved ceramic wave pattern, another nod to the racing spirit of the America’s Cup. Blue accents and a blue-red gradient minute hand adds a pop of color while the trophy-shaped counterweight on the seconds hand is a subtle nod to the race itself.

Visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback that’s adorned with the America’s Cup logo, is Omega’s Calibre 8806. This METAS-certified Master Chronometer automatic movement operates at 25,200vph (3.5 Hz) and offers a 55-hour power reserve. It’s also equipped with Omega’s co-axial escapement.

It’s paired with a blue rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet, priced at $6,500USD on the rubber strap and $6,900USD on the steel bracelet.
