Panerai’s latest slew of wrist-borne gizmos at Watches and Wonders has certainly caused a bit of a kerfuffle amongst horophiles. Five distinct timekeepers have surfaced from their workshops, each with its own particular bent. Let’s dissect what they’ve put on the slab.
Luminor Perpetual Calendar GMT Platinumtech PAM01575
This contrivance attempts to fuse intricate mechanics with everyday usability, a rather ambitious undertaking. It crams a perpetual calendar and GMT complication into the familiar Luminor shell. The Platinumtech case, a proprietary alloy, measures a stout 44mm across, its height unspecified. The familiar Luminor architecture prevails, crown protector and all. The sapphire crystal dial juggles day, date, month, leap year, and GMT indications, alongside luminescent hands and markers.
The automatic P.4100 calibre provides a three-day power reserve and crown-based adjustments. Strap and price are TBD.
Luminor Marina Titanio PAM03325
This Marina variant opts for a lighter feel, thanks to its titanium underpinnings. It still sports the brand’s trademark look, mind you. The brushed titanium case spans 44mm x 4.2mm. A polished titanium bezel adds a modicum of contrast. The dial flaunts a green sun-brushed finish with Super-LumiNova Arabic numerals. The automatic P.980 calibre offers a three-day reserve. It comes on a dark green calfskin strap with a bonus rubber number, priced at $9,700.
Luminor Marina PAM03313
This bloke sticks to the classic Luminor Marina formula, rendered in steel. It presents a triptych of dial hues for varying predilections. The brushed steel case mirrors the titanium at 44mm x 4.2mm. The featured model showcases a blue sun-brushed dial with Super-LumiNova. The self-winding P.980 calibre provides a similar power store. It’s paired with a dark blue alligator strap and a rubber spare, retailing at $8,800.
Luminor Marina PAM03314
This one cleaves closely to the steel ethos of its kin, offering another spin on the core Marina design. The brushed steel case stands at 44mm x 4.2mm. The dial on this iteration is white with Super-LumiNova. The P.980 calibre ticks within, delivering its standard three-day autonomy. It’s presented on a black alligator strap with a green rubber alternative, also priced at $8,800.
Luminor Marina PAM03323
This Marina iteration distinguishes itself with a bracelet. It retains the familiar case structure. The brushed steel case measures 44mm x 4.2mm. The light blue sun-brushed dial offers a slightly different vibe. The P.980 calibre ensures the timekeeping. This model is fitted with a polished and brushed steel bracelet, priced at $9,700.
