Introducing: Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Agave Blue Steel And Rose Gold Versions

A new shade joins the Tonda PF lineup without overcomplicating things.

Parmigiani Fleurier keeps tweaking the Tonda PF, and here’s the thing: they actually know when to quit. Parmigiani took the no-date version they launched last year and said, “Let’s just make it blue”. Well, sort of blue. The result is the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor in Agave Blue in stainless steel or rose gold.

The 40mm x 7.8mm case is slim enough to slide under a shirt cuff without creating a speed bump on your wrist. The finishing alternates between polished and brushed surfaces and that knurled bezel (Parmigiani’s signature move on the Tonda PF) frames the whole thing. The bracelet integrates directly into the case with matching finishes. Water resistance reaches 100 meters via a screw-down crown, so you can actually wear this thing while swimming.

Agave Blue is one of those colors that refuses to commit. It’s blue, but also green, maybe grey, depending on the angle and lighting. This dial plays in the same territory as that famous online color debate. Parmigiani uses a Grain d’Orge guilloché pattern across the surface, a barleycorn texture once you strip the name back to basics. The hands are skeletonized deltas in rhodium-plated steel for the steel version and in rose gold for the gold version. Applied indices match the case material. No date aperture breaking up the symmetry means the dial just breathes.

The PF703 calibre inside measures just 3.07mm thick. That’s why the case can stay so slim without sacrificing an automatic movement. Parmigiani went with a platinum micro-rotor rather than a full-size rotor. Platinum’s density means it winds effectively while eating up less real estate. The PF703 stores 48 hours of power in its mainspring and while that stays hidden in its barrel, you can watch the micro-rotor and the rest of the gear train doing their thing through the sapphire exhibition caseback.

The bracelet closes with a folding clasp. The stainless steel version is priced at CHF 23,700 (ref. PFC914-1020023-100182), while the rose gold edition comes in at CHF 58,000 (ref. PFC914-2020023-200182). Both are available now.
