Richard Mille watches are one of the top ultra-luxury watches around, and the ultra-rare materials play a large part in creating that brand image. The newly released RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne in Blue Caribbean is here to justify that too. Like its predecessors, the White Quartz TPT and Green Quartz TPT versions, this timepiece showcases the brand’s mastery of high-tech materials and movement engineering.

As with most Richard Mille watches, the case is substantial, measuring 42.68mm x 50.12mm x 14.30mm. This tonneau-shaped case is a mix of brawn and beauty with a combination of Blue Caribbean Quartz TPT, Carbon TPT, and titanium for the caseband.

This unique blend not only looks incredible but also delivers exceptional strength and lightness. The case’s curved lines and angular edges create a futuristic silhouette that’s unmistakably RM.

On the dial, Richard Mille uses their signature skeletonized approach, allowing a peek at the intricate mechanics within. The central tourbillon is flanked by power reserve and torque indicators at 11 and 1 o’clock, respectively, providing precise details about the movement’s energy. A small hand at 4 o’clock displays the function selector, allowing the wearer to switch between winding, neutral, and hand-setting modes.

The RM 21-02 features a hand-wound caliber with a nickel-chromium alloy baseplate, originally researched by NASA. This robust foundation supports a movement operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a 70-hour power reserve. The tourbillon’s positioning and lightweight titanium bridges enhance resilience.

The watch comes with a high-performance rubber strap and the availability is limited to 50 pieces.
