Tag Heuer is a very well known luxury Swiss brand. The brand was founded in 1869 when Edouard Heuer opened Uhrenmanufaktur Heuer AG in St-Imier, Switzerland. By 1882 Heuer had patented his first chronograph, and over the next 130 years TAG has been a consistent innovator.
Tag Heuer offer a selection of carefully crafted timepieces including sports watches and chronographs. There are a number of very recognisable stars who wear the brand including Leonardo Dicaprio and Cameron Diaz.
The brand offers a great selection of collections including men and ladies watches. I would like to pay close attention to their Grand Carrera collection. This is one of the brands particular collection which pays tribute to GT race cars. Avant-Garde in design and featuring pioneering technology, the Grand Carrera is fast becoming one of TAG Heuer’s most popular models.
The Grand Carrera collection is inspired by the famous TAG Carrera created by Jack Heuer. The determination to create high performance cars is matched by TAG Heuer’s drive to create the perfect watch. The watches come with a C.O.S.C Certified automatic movement and a distinctive rotating disc showing permanent seconds at 3 o’clock and chronograph minutes at 9 o’clock.
This particular piece from the Gran Carrera collection has a rotating system inspired by a GT racing car by having a ‘dashboard style’ second disc at 6 o’clock. This finally crafted watch boasts a 40.2mm stainless steel case with an oversized screw-in crown. This piece features a black dial with permanent seconds displayed at 6 o’clock with Tag’s exclusive rotating indicator, single date window at 3 o’clock and luminous hands. It has a domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass front with an anti-reflective treatment. The watch is secured with a stainless steel bracelet and deployment clasp and is water resistant to 100 metres.
The next watch from the Grand Carrera collection is this black and red stitched piece. It features a finely crafted 43mm titanium coated case with a Swiss automatic chronograph movement. This is another piece which has Tag Heuer’s Calibre rotating system operate by the oversized screw in crown and push buttons appearing on the case side of the watch. This 100 metre water resistant chronograph has a soft touch alligator leather strap with red lining and a deployment clasp.
This silver dial beauty is the third and final piece discussed from the Grand Carrera collection. A slick and stylish piece from the Swiss brand with a stainless steel bracelet. It features a 43mm stainless steel cases with a Calibre 17 movement which is visible through the open case back A slight hint of red with a streak appearing at the 12 o’clock mark. This is yet another piece which is 100 metres water resistant and Tag Heuer’s rotating system.
The Tag Heuer Grand Carrera collection features watches with very similar features and functions. Looking at the three watches above you can see the great difference in appearance of each watch. What a fabulous watch collection which I believe is set to still be as successful in many years to come.
Thank you Tag Heuer for such a GRAND range.
