Tudor has unveiled a new chronograph geared towards cycling enthusiasts, the Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition. This timepiece joins the ranks of the brand’s sports sponsorships, specifically their sponsorship of the young and promising Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
The watch draws inspiration from the earlier Pelagos FXD Chrono, previously exclusive to the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team. This new edition retains the core elements of its predecessor, including the lightweight and robust 43mm x 14.4mm black carbon composite case. However, it sheds its traditional diving focus for features more relevant to cyclists.
The most notable change is the inclusion of a fixed 60-minute bezel boasting a unique tachymeter scale calibrated specifically for cycling speeds. This replaces the standard 500-to-60 units per hour scale typically found on motorsports-oriented chronographs. Complementing the case is a black dial with striking red accents, that complements the team’s colors and provides excellent legibility with large Snowflake hands and luminescent markers.
Powering the watch is the Tudor MT5813 movement, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph based on a Breitling B01 movement. This movement boasts a 70-hour power reserve, ideal for weekend cycling adventures. The watch comes mounted on a comfortable black fabric strap. Priced at EUR 5,390, CHF 4,850, or $5,275 depending on the region.
