Union Glashütte’s Noramis collection comprises vintage-inspired watches that feature a modern build and pay a tribute to the watches from the 1950s and 60s. The latest addition to the Noramis collection is the Noramis Date Sport, a retro-looking dive watch with funky dial colors.
Offered in blue, turquoise, and anthracite, the dials are the biggest strength of Noramis Date Sports watches. All dials get a nice sunburst treatment and gradient effect for additional visual drama. The hue of color is brighter and vivid around the center of the dial and fades to a dark black shade towards the outer periphery. In terms of layout, you get trapezoidal applied, polished, and faceted hour markers and an applied Arabic numeral at the 12 o’clock position. The markers along with the hands have been filled with luminous paint to enhance low light legibility. There is a white printed minute track on the outside of the hour indices, and an interesting date window sits at 3, which is uniquely shaped to mimic the shape of the markers. Overall, the dial is refined and legible just like a good dive watch should be.
The case on these new watches has been crafted from stainless steel. It measures 42mm in diameter and is around 12.8mm thick. Perched on top of the case is a uni-directional rotating bezel. It features a black ceramic insert with white dive time markings that offer a nice contrast to the black background. The case is equipped with a threaded crown at 3 that ensures that the case remains water-resistant to 200 meters.
Flipping the watch over reveals the calibre UNG-07. S1. This movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 60 hours when fully wound. The movement has been beautifully decorated using Geneva stripes, blued screws, and a rotor with Union branding.
The new Union Glashütte Noramis watches would be accompanied by color-matched textile straps and the blue variation would also come with a Milanese bracelet. The anthracite and turquoise variation are priced at EUR 2,100, whereas the blue variation is priced slightly higher at EUR 2,440.
