In 2006 Vacheron Constantin created the Collection Excellence Platine, a selection of beautiful timepieces issued in limited series. Vacheron Constantin has just released a preview of their new Hallmark of Geneva certified timepiece that will launch at next year’s SIHH. This year the Malte Tourbillon, is introduced in 38 x 48.24 mm by 12.73 mm thick 950 platinum tounneau shaped case.
The tourbillon carriage, inspired by the brand’s signature Maltese cross emblem, provides a showcase for the exceptional level of finishing of the 169-part mechanical hand-wound Calibre 2795 movement. The movement is beating at 18,000 vibrations/hour, and delivers a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. The Calibre 2795 movement can be seen through a transparent sapphire crystal case back, and is water-resistance tested at a pressure of 3 bar (approx. 30 meters)
The 950 platinum dial, has a sandblasted finish with white gold Roman numerals and hour-markers.
The dark blue Mississippiensis alligator leather strap features a saddle-stitched finish and has a folding triple-blade clasp in platinum 950 and is half Maltese cross-shaped. Limited edition of 50 pieces individually numbered.
