In the realm of horology, the tourbillon reigns supreme, celebrated for its intricate mechanical beauty and unrivaled precision Glashütte Original takes it a step further with its patented Flyback Tourbillon, allowing for precise time adjustment without compromising accuracy. The new Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer Tourbillon Premiere not only captivates with its movement but also excels in its timekeeping function.

The watchmakers at Glashütte Original overcame the challenge of stopping the flying tourbillon while ensuring precise time adjustments. They achieved this with two patented solutions. To set the time, simply pull out the crown, activating a vertical clutch that locks the tourbillon cage and balance. Pulling the crown further advances the second and minute hands smoothly, and releasing it allows precise time setting down to the minute. Pressing it back in action resumes the seconds hand for perfect synchronization.

The Senator Chronometer Tourbillon Premiere boasts a platinum case, measuring 42mm in diameter and 12.6mm in height, meticulously crafted by Glashütte Original. While details about water resistance are not prominently mentioned, it’s clear that this watch is designed for elegance and precision rather than rugged outdoor use. The sapphire glass protects the dial and provides a clear view of the intricate movement within, while the back is also protected by sapphire crystal.

The dial features a clean and functional design, with elegantly styled hands for easy readability. The day/night display behind the transparent portion adds a celestial touch, and the Clous de Paris pattern enhances the three-dimensional look.

Underneath the dial lies the manual winding Calibre 58-06, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and boasting a 70-hour power reserve, visible through the front of the case. This transparency allows enthusiasts to admire the intricate Flyback Tourbillon mechanism and its control mechanism, showcasing the brand’s engineering prowess. Each watch undergoes a rigorous examination by the Thuringian Weights and Measures Office to ensure it meets the DIN 8319 official chronometer standard.

Completing the package, the watch comes with a dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap and a platinum butterfly clasp. The Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer Tourbillon Premiere is available in a limited edition of 50 pieces worldwide, priced at EUR185,000 (including VAT 19%).
