The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical gets a bronze makeover.

When it comes down to high-quality value-oriented field watches Hamilton’s Khaki field mechanical watches immediately come to mind. For 2021 Hamilton is giving the Khaki field mechanical a bronze makeover. Let’s have a quick look.

The main talking point on this new Khaki Field Mechanical is its bronze housing. The use of bronze is an interesting move, as it means that the case would not maintain its original color forever and would gather a patina over time, giving every watch a distinctive personality. Change in material aside, the case on the Khaki Field mechanical maintains the shape and dimensions of its steel siblings. It has a nice rounded shape, with nice curvy lugs, and still measures a modest 38mm in diameter, which should make it sit comfortably on a wide variety of wrists. The grippy crown at 3, is also made of bronze, and the case is water-resistant to just 50 meters.

The dial, like the case, has not changed significantly but does feature a few interesting updates. Like other members of the family, the layout remains highly legible and functional. Big, bold white Arabic numerals take center stage on the Matt black dial. A 24-hour scale has been printed towards the inside and a minute track occupies the out outer periphery features a minute track that comprises white has marks along with triangles at intervals of five that in this instance have been coated with beige superluminova to better complement the bronze case. Time telling is taken care of using the sword handset, which has also been filled with custard-colored luminous paint. One of my favorite details on this dial is the absence of a date window, which helps in keeping the dial clean and symmetrical.

Ticking underneath the closed case back, which is made from titanium to avoid an allergic reaction to the skin, is the hand-wound caliber H 50. A capable movement, the H 50 operates at a frequency of 3 Hz and offers an impressive autonomy of around 80 hours when fully wound.

The new Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze would come mated to a brown leather nato strap and will retail for $825 USD.
