Introducing Biver Automatique Yellow Gold & Atelier Series Carbon Edition Watches

Biver’s new duo is eye-catching, where one is brimming in heritage, the other has the cutting edge.

Word on the street is that Biver’s Automatique stable has just welcomed a brace of novel iterations, each pitching a rather distinctive tent in the horological landscape. We’re talking about a face-off between the tried-and-true gleam of yellow gold and the decidedly au courant oomph of carbon fiber. These aren’t meant to be your run of the mill tickers, rather they’re hinting at a certain je ne sais quoi for those with the wherewithal.

Biver Automatique Yellow Gold

First off, the Yellow Gold. It’s a bit of a throwback, sporting a proper yellow gold dial with a brushed do and some grained bits in the middle. The hands and markers are a darkish grey, offering a sharp visual counterpoint to the gold. It’s strapped on with a black nubuck leather, simple as you like. Asking price is CHF 75,000

Atelier Series Carbon Edition

Then you’ve got the Atelier Series Carbon Edition. This one’s cut from a different cloth altogether. They’ve slapped a woven carbon fiber disc right in the middle of the dial, ringed by more yellow gold. It takes cues from an old racing livery. This one comes on a braided black rubber strap, lined with leather no less. Think of it as the Automatique wearing sneakers instead of dress shoes. It’ll set you back CHF 89,000

Both models clock in with a 39mm x 10mm yellow gold case, a fair whack of the precious stuff. Inside, the self-winding JCB Calibre JCB-003-C ticks away, boasting a 65-hour power reserve. Both are good for a splash too, rated at 80 meters.

If you’re looking to lay your hands on one of these, Biver’s own web-shop is seeing a gradual influx right now, with regular dealers likely to stock ’em before long.
