Citizen is a brand that has been producing watches for over a century, and they have established itself as a reliable and quality watchmaker. The Japanese watchmaker has always been at the forefront of watch innovation, and this latest release is no different. The Tsuyosa Collection features a sleek and sporty design, with a modern aesthetic that can be dressed up or down. Citizen has released four new watches in this collection, and they are all stunning timepieces worth anyone’s attention.

Four Citizen Tsuyosa watches, each with a unique design, are available in different references. The NJ0151-88L and NJ0151-88M are both made of steel, with the former sporting a sandblasted, dark blue gradient dial with beige-toned luminous inserts, and the latter in a trendy light Tiffany blue sunray-brushed texture. The NJ0151-88X features a teal/dark turquoise gradient-effect dial with a sunray-brushed finish. Finally, the NJ0153-82X has a gradient-effect dark red sunray-brushed dial and is housed in a rose gold-plated steel case.

The case size is perfect, a signature Tsuyosa barrel-shaped case with a 40mm diameter forged from stainless steel. The finishing on the cases is impeccable, with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces that give it a unique and stylish look. One model has the pink gold plated case as well. All four models have the sapphire crystal protecting the dial with a magnifier over the date. The caseback is also transparent but it’s made of mineral glass. The placement and style of the crown is notable for being slightly recessed into the case and positioned at 4 o’clock. This unique placement serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, as it allows for a more streamlined appearance and also prevents the crown from digging into the wrist while wearing the watch. Water resistance is rated at 50m.

All four references are driven by Citizen’s in-house automatic Calibre 8210. It beats at 21,600vph with a 40-hour power reserve. It’s undecorated but offers a gold-colored finish. The models come on an integrated three-link steel bracelet with polished and brushed rounded links and deployment clasp that offers micro-adjustments. The Citizen Tsuyosa Automatic watches are available in selected markets, such as the UAE, parts of Asia, and HK, and will soon be available in Europe. The steel models are priced at EUR 299, and the gold-plated edition costs EUR 349.
