Omega’s association with the James Bond franchise is no secret, in fact, “fascination” would’ve been a more apt terminology to use. In the past, the elusive James Bond character has worn the Omega watch numerous times in the highly appreciated spy franchise. That would be 9 times in total when James Bond has worn an Omega watch, first in 1995 when Pierce Brosnan wore OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M, serving as a laser detonator for Mr. Bond. Then the last time an Omega watch appeared in a Bond movie would be when Daniel Craig wore a Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition for “No Time To Die”. Omega has returned the kindness in full by creating many James Bond tribute pieces throughout the years. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the James Bond movie franchise and Omega is more than keen on celebrating this historic event by releasing two new Seamaster Diver 300M models that pay tribute to the iconic spy on the cinema screen.

What’s common for both models is the 42 mm case size with 300 meters / 1,000 water resistance and the sapphire exhibition caseback, decorated with micro-structured metallization. With Bond in silhouette and a revolving gun barrel design, the caseback is a recreation of the iconic 007 opening sequence. The revolving motion of the lollipop’s central seconds hand is synchronized with the “moiré” effect animation, ensuring that there is never a pause in the action.

The bezel and the dial are fashioned with blue oxalic anodized aluminum, and the bezel has a diving scale filled with white Super-LumiNova. The diving scale’s conventional inverted triangle has been replaced by a ceremonial “60”. The dial has waves that have been laser-engraved and a glowing green dot that connects to the minute hand. It has a mesh-style bracelet, The watch itself takes its design cues from the Seamaster that 007 wore in GoldenEye. Presented in the original Diver 300M wave’s blue wooden presentation box, which has three dots reminiscent of the iconic Bond opening title sequence and a hidden push button on the right.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 60 Years Of James Bond ref. 210.30.42.20.03.002 has an official price tag of €8.500 (with VAT), or US$7600 (excluding sales taxes).

The special white gold alloy, distinguished for its dazzling luster and enduring quality, was chosen as the material for the white gold model. This priceless metal is also used to make the bracelet and buckle. Natural diamonds that have undergone green and yellow treatment around the bezel on the gold version. The ten colors, which range from forest green to gold/cognac, pay homage to the Jamaican flag, GoldenEye, which served as Ian Fleming’s home when writing the James Bond novels. The dial’s grey silicon is a tribute to the region’s beaches. Because of the crystallites in the material, every dial is different. At 12 o’clock, two more clear diamonds add a finishing touch. The watch is packaged in a mango tree box with mother-of-pearl marquetry for the owners of this version.

For this model, the price is on request only.

Omega’s Co-axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8806 automatic movement powers the steel model whereas the gold model is powered by Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8807, which is basically the same movement but the latter has more luxurious touches with Sedna gold rotor and the balance bridge. The movement offers 55 hours of power reserve while beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour.
