Introducing The Panerai Luminor California 8 Days DLC PAM779, Radiomir Logo 3 Days Acciaio, & Black Seal Logo 3 Days Acciaio Watches

By Jovan Krstevski

If there is one thing I really like about Officine Panerai watches, it has got to do with its sharp look. So join me as I introduce you to 3 new Officine Panerai watches today.

One of Panerai’s most exclusive models is perhaps the new PAM779 Luminor California 8 Days DLC featuring bold and very masculine presence.

Its boldness springs from anthracite-color DLC coated titanium Luminor case measuring a hefty 44 mm in diameter. This treatment not only increases the durability of the case against external factors but it also gives it distinction in the market. Collectors are no doubt already vying for the PAM779 as the DLC coating option in Panerai’s product line is obviously limited.

The California dial in PAM779 includes the classic Roman and Arabic numeral indices. The hour and the minute hands are also aged by oxidizing them at about 300 degrees centigrade. The illusion of aging is very real but to me this is redundant as obviously the oxidizing effect is natural but why wait if the technology is available.

The 300 meter water resistant model is powered by a manufacture movement and is equipped with a sapphire crystal. The movement beating at 21600 vph yields a good power reserve of 8 days thanks to its double barrel system.

Perhaps one of the most interesting details I like about the new model is its strap which is made of brown aged leather that is totally decorated with contrasting beige stitches. The design offers bold wrist presence as well as comfort and durability. The brand does not skimp a bit on the quality leather at all. Moreover, there is a military theme available in an additional piece of leather that sits on the back of the wrist although the strap can be used without this extra piece. Just like the 44 mm family in the Luminor collection, the box set also includes a black rubber strap.

Then there are the 2 watches on our list that are the first ever watch produced by Panerai available in two brand new versions: the Radiomir Logo (PAM00753) and Radiomir Black Seal Logo (PAM00754).

The new entry-level models of the Radiomir family are very significant in the history of Panerai and are offered in 45 mm stainless steel cases. The new models with the distinctive Panerai lug and dial are equipped with the brand-new Caliber P.6000. The new models also feature the OP logo on their dials at 6 o’clock. Moreover, the Black Seal (PAM00754) version offers a small second counter at 9 o’clock and surprisingly it doesn’t disturb the classic Panerai look.

The Radiomir Logo (PAM00753) and Radiomir Black Sea Logo (PAM00754) models are water resistant to 100 meters and equipped with sapphire crystals. Their movements also offer 72 hours of power reserve.

Finally, the new watches comes on a nice beige-stitched black and brown straps that are secured by Panerai-style trapezoid buckles. Visit Panerai here.
