Speake-Marin Tutti Frutti Limited Edition Watches

The Speake Marin Tutti-Frutti is a multi-colored artistic expression.

The world of horology has become more colorful and vibrant in recent times. Gone are the days when white, black, and grey dials used to dominate the landscape, and blue dials were uncommon and refreshing. These days most watch brands, even the more conservative ones, are willing to experiment with color to create fun and interesting timepieces. On that note, I would like to introduce the Speake-Marin Tutti Frutti, a watch that features a dark black carbon dial splashed with multicolored highlights.

Creating a dial with a wide gamut of colors is no easy feat, but the Speake Marin Tutti-Frutti proves that it is very much possible and can be quite a feast for the eyes. As I just mentioned above, the dial on the Tutti-Frutti is made from carbon and has a nice texture which makes it visually attractive. But what pumps life into this dial are the printed Roman numerals that have been presented in bright and vivid color combinations. All the numerals are bi-colored, and you get to witness everything from yellow to lime to purple to orange, creating an exciting and artistic impression. Time telling is made possible using the brand’s signature Spade and whip hour and minute hands, combined with a baton-style seconds hand that moves smoothly within the offset sub-dial placed between 1 and 2.

The case on Tutti-Frutti is crafted from 5N red gold and features a familiar elegant design that can be seen on many existing Speake Marin watches. A few signature design touches include the step bezel, the elongated screwed lugs, and the large onion crown, all of which combine to give the watch a distinctive identity. There are two case sizes on offer: 38mm for small and medium-sized wrists and 42mm to accommodate large wrists. The case is water-resistant to just 30 meters.

Providing power to this watch is the in-house SMA03 Calibre. An automatic movement, the SMA03 operates at 4 Hz and features a micro-rotor that helps in making the watch achieve a slender profile. The use of a micro-rotor also means that the wearer can get an unobstructed view of this well-finished movement. When fully wound the SMA03 can offer a healthy power reserve of around 52 hours.

The new Speake Marin Tutti-Frutti is limited to just 10 pieces and comes attached to a black cowhide strap with double multi-colored stitching.

The 38mm variant retails for CHF 49,900 and the 42mm version costs a little more coming in at CHF 56,150.
