WristReview’s Top 5 Watches From H. Moser & Cie.

By Jovan Krstevski

Here are our top 5 picks from H. Moser & Cie., the brand that is well-known for its very rare and amazing timepieces.

5. PIONEER PERPETUAL CALENDAR RED GOLD

The Pioneer Perpetual Calendar is an extremely wearable perpetual calendar. The time display is super legible on both land and water (120 meters) making it the first complication of its kind to be truly suited for everyday wear thanks in part to its durable case made of 18k red gold and a DLC-treated titanium version. The watch is definitely an all-terrain perpetual calendar by design featuring black rubber for added security. It’s also powered by a hand-wound HMC 800 calibre with 7 day power reserve.

4. SWISS ALP WATCH SMALL SECONDS

The Swiss Alp Watch features a modern design and a pure mechanical movement which is the hand-wound HMC 324 calibre featuring a 4-day-power-reserve (can be seen through the exhibition caseback). Its rectangular case has rounded corners topped by a crystal with curved edges, achieving a trendy look. On the dial, it’s definitely classic featuring cool luster in midnight-blue fumé. It comes with a Black alligator leather strap and has 2 variations mainly on the watch face.

3. VENTURER BIG DATE RED GOLD FUME DIAL

What sets the Venturer Big Date apart is of course its big date display and the brand’s Flash Calendar system. The date window is located at 3:00 comprised of 2 rings on top of the each other, a technique that removes the need for a leading zero or blank panel. It is powered by the hand-wound HMC 100 calibre with 7 day power reserve. It also comes in various models other than the impressive red gold fume dial worn on brown alligator leather strap.

2. VENTURER TOURBILLON DUAL TIME RED GOLD FUME DIAL

The Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time is powered by the HMC 802 automatic movement (seen through exhibition caseback) featuring a dual time function that can be hidden when not in use. It also features a Moser minute tourbillon module at 6:00. I like the finishing of the dial that highlights the Moser interchangeable tourbillon module revealed below an open-worked bridge. It comes in a hand-stitched alligator strap with 18-carat red or white gold folding clasp complete with an engraved Moser logo. There are other variations of the watch such as the one with red gold case and Argenté dial.

1. ENDEAVOUR PERPETUAL CALENDAR

The Endeavour Perpetual Calendar prides itself when it comes to simplicity and ingenuity that the brand is known for. The ingenious aspect is easily seen on the short arrow-shaped hand that uses the hour indices to indicate the month – pretty clever. Then there’s the Flash Calendar system with a date change that instantaneously happens at midnight. It also features protective measures for the movement that allows you to easily adjust forwards or backwards in time with no harm done to the engine. Thanks to these solutions, the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar was recognized at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in 2006, in the complicated watches category. While the collection is identical by case design, there are multiple variations of the watch. I like the purity funky blue fume as it blends so well with the white gold case and Beige kudu leather strap. Visit H. Moser & Cie..
